Ask a Librarian

Ask a Librarian is our Online Virtual Reference Service, intended for current students, faculty and staff of Forman Christian College. Services to other inquirers from community are provided subject to availability of staff and resources.

  • Information Commons Librarian – IC Research Help Desk, Room No. 125, Armacost Science Building

Personal Visit: Visit Research Help Desk on any of the above mentioned locations for seeking research help in-person for on-spot assistance from professional librarians during regular service hours.

Call @ Extention: Call on Ext. 427 for Reference Desk Help OR Ext. 554 for IC Research Help Desk. Please note that only simple questions may be answered over phone. If the query requires more detailed instruction, you may be asked to visit or email the IC Help Desk.

Email Us: An Online Ask EML Form is available on Library I-Portal to make email inquiries to the Library Staff. Email queries may also be directed to from Mon-Thur for an answer within 24 hours. Questions sent Fri-Sun might take longer.

Instant Messaging: This service is intended primarily for FCC students, faculty, and staff. Queries may be made by using the Live Reference Librarian Link on the Library I-Portal, for Instant Messaging. In order to answer the questions fully, the user may be asked to email the library or to schedule for a research consultation.

When the Instant Message service is unavailable, please contact us via Ask EML Link Button on Library I-Portal, to send an e-mail to the Library.
