The Ewing Memorial Library has received a generous donation of new books through the Read Japan Project, funded by the Nippon Foundation and facilitated by the Embassy of Japan in Islamabad, Pakistan.


The event was graced by the presence of the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Wada Mitsuhiro, and embassy staff. We were also honored by the attendance of Mr. Aamir H. Shirazi, the Honorary Consul General of Japan in Lahore, and Patron in Chief of the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association.


Dr. Jonathan Addleton thanked the Chief Librarian for securing this valuable donation. Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro elaborated on the Read Japan Project and shared his positive experiences visiting FCCU. He extended his thanks to the Rector and gave special recognition to Dr. Ghazala Irfan for her significant efforts.

Following the speeches, the dignitaries visited the book display and participated in the plaque unveiling ceremony at the Ewing Memorial Library. Additionally, Ms. Shaista Khawar, a special guest, showcased her floral Japanese art, “Ikebana”.
